WROV TO BROADCAST ACC, PREP TOURNEYS

Roanoke radio station WROV (1240 AM) will broadcast the Atlantic Coast Conference basketball tournament in its entirety, starting with tonight's Maryland-Clemson first-round game in Charlotte, N.C.

All ACC games will begin with a pregame show a half-hour before game time; the Maryland-Clemson air time will be 6:30 p.m.

Georgia Tech takes on Virginia on Friday starting at 11:30 a.m., followed by Duke's game against the Maryland-Clemson winner at 2 p.m.

Because of a commitment to state high school tournament coverage, WROV will tape delay the Florida State-North Carolina State game on Friday night until after Wake Forest plays North Carolina at 9:30.

Saturday's semifinals will be heard starting at 1 and 3:30 p.m., with Sunday's final at 12:30 p.m.

WROV also will continue its high school basketball coverage this weekend with the Group AAA and Group AA tournaments.

Northside's first-round Group AA game with Blacksburg will be heard Friday at 7:20 p.m., and the station will carry Patrick Henry vs. Chantilly in the Group AAA tournament at 8:35 p.m. Saturday. Quarterly reports on the Cave Spring-James Madison Group AAA girls' game will be heard during Saturday's first ACC semifinal. - Staff report
