BOY FACES CHARGE IN ROANOKE SHOOTING

The youth, who was taken to Coyner Springs Detention Center, was charged in the malicious wounding of Cornelius M. Jones of the 500 block of Fifth Street Northwest, Roanoke police said.

Jones was treated at Roanoke Memorial Hospital after the bullet grazed his head.

Another man, Raccion Jones, 19, was charged with attempted malicious wounding.

Officers said two people had gone to the victim's home shortly before 10 p.m. Officers said they were starting to leave when one turned and fired a handgun he was carrying.
