WINGATE, N.C. - Mrs. Elsie Barton Finney, age 67, of Wingate, N.C., died Friday, March 13, 1992, at Mercy Hospital in Charlotte, N.C. She was born December 1, 1924, the daughter of the late Homer Barton and the late Birdie Thompson Barton. She was a retired supervisor with the Ma-Leck Corporation, and was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Burke Finney, in 1980. Mrs. Finney is survived by her son, Jerry Finney, Wingate, N.C.; and her brother, Leslie Barton, Hardy. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at Wingate Baptist Church with Dr. Jim Summerville and Dr. Walter Woodson officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. today at McEwen Funeral Home, Monroe, N.C. Arrangements are being handled by McEwen Funeral Home, Monroe.
