ROANOKE PLAYERS MAKE STATE SOCCER TEAM

Four players from the Roanoke Valley Youth Soccer Club have made the Virginia Olympic Development as either regulars or alternates.

John Logan, under 16 boys, and Carrie Moore, under 14 girls, both were selected as one of the 16 regular players in their categories. Mike Lucas, under 13 boys, and William Watkins, under 14 boys, were chosen as alternates in their classifications.

The Olympic Development team features the top 20 players - 16 regulars and four alternates - from around the state in each of the different age groups. The teams will represent the Commonwealth by competing in Northeast Regional Tournament, which will be played in late June at the University of Massachusetts.
