VETERANS DON'T GET MANDATED CARE

PUBLIC LAW 38 requires that the federal government provide adequate health care for disabled veterans.

There are indications that this mandated care is not being provided. Veterans Affairs Secretary Derwinski is quoted as saying: "No promises were made to veterans for health care."

As a member of Amvets, Disabled Americans Veterans and the American Legion, I read the monthly journals, and all three of these indicate chaotic conditions exist in the veterans health-care system.

Veterans, isn't it about time we flooded the offices of Sens. Robb and Warner and Congressman Jim Olin urging that Derwinski be removed from his Cabinet post? HUBERT G. HUNLEY ROANOKE
