TULANE COACH HONORED

Perry Clark of Tulane was voted college coach of the year by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association. Perry took Tulane from the ashes of a point-shaving scandal to national rankings and the NCAA Tournament in just three years.

Tulane president Eamon Kelly suspended the basketball program for four seasons after the point-shaving conspiracy and allegations of NCAA recruiting violations.

Clark's first team finished 4-24. His second went 15-13, and this year's team is 21-8, regular-season Metro Conference champion and preparing for its first NCAA Tournament.
