WOMEN'S WEEK WEEKEND ACTIVITIES

Here are this weekend's events for Women's Week 1993 at Virginia Tech; all events are in the Squires Student Center unless noted. See the calendar in Sunday's New River Current for a complete listing of the week's schedule. \ Saturday

\ 10 a.m.-noon "Financial Check-Up" in 234 Squires. Elaine Scott, certified financial planner, addresses issues of budgeting, credit, insurance, estate planning and investments. Call 231-7615 to register.

\ 1-3 p.m. "Straight But Not Narrow: How to Overcome Homophobia" in 142 Squires. Panel includes Barbara Todd of Roanoke Chapter Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays, Meg Cook of Roanoke Chapter Outright (gay and lesbian youth support group) and Peggy Eaton of the New River Valley AIDS Coalition.

\ 8 p.m. "The Guerilla Girls: Conscience of the Art World" in Colonial Hall of Squires. A video lecture and dialogue with the audience on attitudes in contemporary art.\ \ Sunday

\ 2 p.m. "Spirituality Celebration" at the amphitheater near the Virginia Tech Duck Pond.

\ 3-11 p.m. Film festival in Colonial Hall of Squires includes "Fundi: The Story of Ella Baker" at 3 p.m., "Pregnant But Equal" at 4 p.m., "Still Killing Us Softly" at 4:30 p.m. and 9 p.m., "Strangers in Good Company" at 5:15 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., and "Daughters of the Dust" at 7 p.m.
