OBIT BADER, BETTY LOU BROWN

BADER, Betty Lou Brown, 66, of Charlotte, N.C., and formerly of Salem, Va., died Wednesday evening, March 17, 1993, at her home while surrounded by family and friends. She was born on September 23, 1926, a daughter of the late Elejah Brazelton Brown and Martha Judith Junkin Brown of Roanoke, Va. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Maxwell Bader, also formerly of Roanoke. She retired in July 1992 from the United States Department of Labor in Charlotte. She had also worked for the Veterans Administration Regional Office in Roanoke for a number of years. She was a member of The Little Church on the Lane. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, William F. and Frances Bader of Chicago, Il., Thomas Bader and Janet Williams of Charlotte, N.C.; two daughters, Anne Marie Bader and Martha Judith Bader, both of Charlotte, N.C.; and two granddaughters, Jenna and Bryony Bader, both of Charlotte, N.C. She is also survived by three sisters, Mary Jane B. Helfrich of Shalimar, Fla., June B. Brooks of Jacksonville, Ark., Judith B. Paxton of Salem, Va.; one brother, William W. O'Brien of Vienna, Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, March 21, 1993, at The Little Church on the Lane, Charlotte, N.C., with the Rev. Dr. Henry E. May officiating. The family will receive friends at Harry & Bryant from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday. Enurnment of the cremated remains will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday at Sherwood Memorial Park, Roanoke Va. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice, 1420 E. Seventh Street, Charlotte, N.C. 28204. Harry & Bryant Company of Charlotte, N.C., is serving the family of Mrs. Bader.
