OBIT PARKER, ROSA EMMA

PARKER, Rosa Emma, 104, of Route 3, Moneta, died Thursday, March 18, 1993. She departed this life at Eldercare Nursing Home, Rocky Mount. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. William Henry Parker, and thirteen children. She was an active member of the Indian Ridge Baptist Church, the Mother of the Church, a member of the missionary circle; and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Ministers and Missionary Board. She was held in high esteem by all who knew her, and she will be truly missed by all. She is survived by one son, Harry L. Parker, Washington, D.C.; one daughter, Mrs. Garnette Woods, Carmody Hills, Md.; three daughters-in-law, Mrs. Ollie B. Parker and Mrs. Vinnie Parker, both of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Hazel Parker of Detroit, Mich.; fourteen grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday from the Indian Ridge Baptist Church with the Rev. McKinley J. Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow in the Parker Family Cemetery. Friends may call at the Church on Monday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Arrangements by Stanfield Mortuary Service.
