OBIT STONE, EDITH

STONE, Edith, 92, of Bedford, died Saturday, January 9, 1993. Born July 10, 1900 in Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Everett Bascomb and Julia Claytor Stone. She was a life-long member of St. John's Episcopal Church and was active in the Garden Club of Bedford and the Bedford Book Forum. She is survived by two nieces, Rosemary Purcell of Richland, Washington, and Virginia Luckey of Sedona, Arizona; one nephew, William A. Summerson of Annandale; nine grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Friends may call at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford on Monday, January 11, 1993 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 12, 1993 at St. John's Episcopal Church with the Rev. James A. Creasy officiating. Interment will follow in Longwood Cemetery. The family suggests that memorials be made to the St. John's Episcopal Church Building Fund, Bedford.
