OBIT GLASS, GENEVA PARKHURST

GLASS, Geneva Parkhurst, 71, of Vinton, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 1993 in Community Hospital. She was a member of the Lake Drive Church of Christ. Preceding her in death were two sisters, Reba P. Jones and Oleda P. Thomason; two brothers, Tommy Leland and Roy Parkhurst. Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Thornton (Tony) S. Glass; three daughters and sons-in-law, Cecelia and Sherrel Mercer, Edna, Texas, Kathryn and Bobby Pearson, Pensacola, Fla., Nancy and Roger Mannon, Floyd; one foster daughter, Darlene Allen, Roanoke; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Beth Glass, Vinton; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters and brother-in-law, Freda Mitchell, Chattanooga, Tenn., Laneta and Ward Kemp, North Springs, Tenn.; one brother and sister-in-law, Faulby and Oda Parkhurst, Red Boiling Springs, Tenn.; also nieces and nephews, many devoted friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday noon at the Lake Drive Church of Christ with Minister Tommy L. Blewett officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
