OBIT HALSEY, RALPH VIRGIL

HALSEY, Ralph Virgil, 73, of Bedford, passed away Thursday, January 21, 1993 in the Bedford County Memorial Hospital. He was born August 29, 1918 in Grayson County, a son of the late Cepert Halsey and Eva Ann Wood Halsey. He was a retired timber cutter and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Viola Jean Huffman Halsey; five stepsons, Howard Hess, Quarrysville, Pa., Clarence Hess, John Hess, both of Lancaster, Pa., Thomas Hess, Jesse Hess, both of Bedford; two stepdaughters, Kathleen Morris, Kirkwood, Pa., Darlene Swift, Holtwood, Pa.; two brothers, Wyndell Halsey, Bedford, Albert Halsey, Big Island; one sister, Frances Duke, Salmon, Ohio; 14 stepgrandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 23, 1993 at 4 p.m. from the Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford, by the Rev. Ray Lyons. Interment will follow in the Timber Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
