GUN CONTROL HAS RACIST TONES

I FEEL our governor's agenda on gun control is not only a lot of rhetoric, but also smacks as very racist.

If the governor of New York blamed the blacks for the crimes committed with guns on the streets of New York City, Washington, D.C., and Richmond (as a large part is committed by blacks), he would be called a racist, bigot and some other names.

Gov. Wilder wants to make a "whipping boy" of the mostly white law-abiding citizens and gun owners by taking our constitutional rights away, and calling it crime control, all for the lack of enforcing law and order on our city streets.

OK, I know there are probably some black gun collectors, but I have never seen or heard of one, or very few sport-shooters, hunters and gun dealers.

All voters should watch the representatives in Richmond to see how they vote on this issue, and also write to their representatives about their feelings on gun control. NOAH E. MILLS CALLAWAY
