WOMAN IS INDICTED IN HUSBAND'S KILLING

A Franklin County grand jury Monday indicted Brenda Tyree Hogan on a charge of murder in the Halloween-night shooting death of her husband.

An earlier grand jury had declined to indict Hogan, 45, who lives in the Sontag community southeast of Rocky Mount.

James Cecil "Buck" Hogan, 58, died Oct. 31 after being shot several times.

Franklin County Sheriff W.Q. Overton said previously that Hogan was shot during a dispute in the couple's home. "When he struck her son, that's when she got involved," Overton said.
