RED CROSS CHAPTER SEEKS 5,000 MEMBERS
The Montgomery County Chapter of the American Red Cross has started its annual drive for members, hoping to reach a goal of 5,000 members for the local chapter.
Berlie Bowman, who is heading the drive, said volunteer and financial involvement is crucial for Red Cross success. The organization needs canteen materials, food, a vehicle, first aid supplies, a computer and a fax machine.
Last year, the Red Cross helped 15 families whose houses were destroyed by fire.
