CAVALIERS HOLD OFF FISHBURNE MILITARY

Shannon Williams scored 20 points, including 3-for-5 from 3-point range, as Lord Botetourt defeated Fishburne Military Academy 81-64 in a boys' basketball game on Wednesday.

Ryan Salvi hit four of six 3-point attempts for the Cavaliers and finished with 14 points. Lord Botetourt (5-10) shot 56 percent, including 44 percent (7-for-16) on 3-point attempts.

Kortaa Hall, who didn't score in the first quarter, finished with 22 for Fishburne despite having a new defensive man placed on him every minute. Fishburne won the first meeting between the two teams 76-71. Hall scored 38 points in that game.\ GIRLS: Cave Spring 75, Franklin County 52: At Cave Spring, Kim Stewart scored 17 points and Kelly Dierker added 15 and 10 rebounds to lead the Knights (15-2, 7-0) to a girls' Blue Ridge District victory over the Eagles. Franklin County (8-5, 3-5) was paced by Shannon Conley's 14 points.
