OBIT-AUSTIN, EDGAR WILSON

AUSTIN, Edgar Wilson, 76, of Vesuvius, Va., died Thursday, February 4, 1993 at the Waynesboro Community Hospital, Waynesboro. Mr. Austin was born September 9, 1916, in Vesuvius, a son of the late William Austin and Tessie Koogler Austin and special family recognition goes to Mr. and Mrs. Gray D. Secrist. He was a member of the Vesuvius Baptist Church and was a retired maintenance foreman for the U.S. Department of Interior, National Parks Service Blue Ridge Parkway, and a trustee of the Vesuvius Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude H. Austin, Vesuvius; a son, Donald Gray Austin, Lexington; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Brooks, Stuarts Draft, and Mrs. Dorothy Hays, Vesuvius. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 6, 1993, at 11 a.m. at the graveside at Mt. Caramel Presbyterian Cemetery, Steeles Tavern, Va. with Rev. Jack E. Mallory officiating. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Fairfield Rescue Squad. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.
