OBIT DEAN, FANNIE MAE

DEAN, Fannie Mae, 89, of Pearisburg, died Friday evening, February 19, 1993 in a Blacksburg nursing home. Born in Pembroke, January 7, 1903, she was a daughter of the late John Allen and Nannie Slash Milton. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Boston Dean Sr.; and a son, Jessie Allen Dean. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pembroke. Surviving are three sons, George Boston Dean Jr., and William Dean, both of Pearisburg, Bernard Dean, Christiansburg; three daughters, Annabell Virginia Parks, Hoges Chapel, Mary D. Thornton, Washington, D.C., Betty D. Chapman, Linside, W.Va.; one sister, Laura Etta Beck, Pembroke; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; seventeen great-great-grandchildren; a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Pembroke with the Rev. Eddie Kendall and the Rev. Dan Parks officiating. Burial will be in the Horseshoe Cemetery, Pembroke. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Kendall Funeral Home, Pembroke.
