OBIT ALLEN, BARBARA FRANCES ("BOBBIE")

ALLEN, Barbara Frances ("Bobbie"), 48, of Route 1, Box 1240, Rockville, Va., 23146, died of lung cancer on February 20, 1993. She was the beloved daughter of William Earl and Mildred Haley Allen of Rockville. Formerly of Roanoke and sister of Edgar H. Allen, Venezuela, Stephen Grove Allen, Christiansburg, and Gregory Earl Allen, Charlotte, N.C. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Mary H. Allen, Julieta Allen; nieces and nephews, Wendy M. Allen, Bryna S. Allen, Daniel C. Allen, and Samantha K. Allen. Following graduation from Longwood College, she became a longtime employee of A.H. Robins Pharmaceutical Company and had been active in numerous sports, primarily running and skiing. At her request, the remains will be cremated.Instead of a funeral ceremony, there will be a Memorial service at Woody's Parham Road Chapel at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 28, after which the family will be happy to receive friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Mary's Hospice, 5801 Bremo Rd., Richmond, Va. 23226 will be welcomed.
