OBIT FRANKLIN, GENEVA CLARK

FRANKLIN, Geneva Clark, of Iron Gate, formerly of Christiansburg, passed away February 21, 1993. She fell asleep in the Lord Sunday morning at her home in Iron Gate. She was born July 6, 1908, the daughter of the late John Henry Clark and Della Britt Clark. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Franklin; and a brother, Roy Buster Clark. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Louise Webb, Iron Gate, Mrs. Mildred Buhrman, Panama City, Fla.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and three stepgrandsons; two sisters, Lucille Collins, Suffolk, Carlene Akers, Christiansburg. Mrs. Franklin was employed by Melrose Sewing Factory in Radford for 29 years, retiring at the age of 72. A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the gravesite in Sunset Cemetery in Christiansburg, conducted by the Rev. R. Baldwin Lloyd. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the Clifton Forge Rescue Squad, Clifton Forge, Va. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg. Arrangements are being handled by Richardson-Horne, Christiansburg.
