BRADLEY FREE CLINIC HONORS VOLUNTEERS

The Bradley Free Clinic recognized 83 individuals and agencies at its recent awards dinner.

The David Newman Award for Volunteer Excellence was presented to Drs. Scott Anderson and Tom Richardson, both dentists, and Dr. Randy Rhea, a physician.

The Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to Kathy Burton and Jack McKenna. David and Betty Burrows were given the Helen Van Rensselaer Award for Philanthropy.

VA hospital names social worker of year

Vic L. Boddie has been named Social Worker of the Year at the Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Boddie, a social worker in the nursing home care unit, has worked for the VA Medical Center for 12 years. During the past year, Boddie also has served on the HIV Task Force, Ethics Committee, Patient Services Committee, Honor Awards Committee and as an equal employment opportunity counselor and field instructor for graduate students in social work.

Runners-up for this year's award were Charlene Hughes and Margaret Skelly.
