INCUMBENT JABLONSKI MAY GET NOMINATION CHALLENGE
Incumbent Henry Jablonski may face a challenge for the Republican nomination for the District D seat on the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors this year.
Robert Anderson, 33, founder of a Christiansburg teen center, said he's been approached about seeking the GOP nod and is giving it some thought.
"A few people have expressed some concern about the way [Jablonski] has voted in the past," Anderson said. Anderson has lived in the county since 1988.
Jablonski has served on the board since 1982. He could not be reached for comment.
Jablonski's is one of three seats on the board up for re-election this fall. The others are filled by Joe Stewart of Elliston, a Republican, and Jim Moore of Blacksburg, a Democrat.
Libby Beamer, candidate-search chairman for the county GOP, said the party has no candidate yet to oppose Moore.
Steve Cochran, vice chairman of the county Democratic Party, said no Democrats have formally announced for either Jablonski's or Stewart's seat.
