HATS OFF TO OLD GLORY

NOW THAT spring is here, it won't be long until baseball games and other outdoor activities will be in full swing. At many of these functions, the Star Spangled Banner is played. It really gets to me to see so many young men leaving their caps on their head. This, to me, shows a lack of respect for our flag.

Even though this country has a lot of problems, the flag should always be honored. Parents have a responsibility to tell their sons, even if they are grown, that this is an important matter and should not be neglected. ROGER CLARK SALEM
