OBIT SWEENEY, GLADYS BOWER

SWEENEY, Gladys Bower, 78, of Roanoke died Friday, June 4, 1993. Mrs. Sweeney retired from Community Hospital. She was the widow of Elbert Paul Sweeney, and was preceded in death by her son, Elbert P. Sweeney Jr. and her daughter, Mary F. Connor. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Calvin and Yvonne Sweeney, Roanoke; Claude E. and Rose Sweeney, Indianapolis, Ind., Sheldon R. and Darlene Sweeney, Wirtz, Roger W. and Nancy Sweeney, Roanoke; Lewis W. and Carolyn Sweeney, Salem, Jerry L. Sweeney, Roanoke, Micheal L. and Linda Sweeney, Roanoke; her daughters and sons-in-law, Billie Jean and Alvin Saul, Goodview, Betty M. and Wayne Patsel, Salem, Wanda R. Sweeney, Roanoke; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandsons. Funeral services will held at Oakey's South Chapel Monday, June 7, 1993, 1 p.m. with the Rev. Terry A. Mabrey officiating. Interment in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Floyd County. Friends may call at Oakey's South Chapel.
