OBIT HENSON, FLORENCE ARMSTRONG

HENSON, Florence Armstrong, 75, of Buena Vista, died Tuesday, June 8, 1993 at her home. She was born in Rockbridge County on September 4, 1917, the daughter of the late Elmer Armstrong and Evie Coleman Armstrong. She was a retired housekeeper from Southern Seminary College and was a member of Stone Church of the Brethren. She was preceded in death by her husband Curtis M. Henson and a son Milton Henson. She is survived by a daughter, Cherry Henson Scott, Buena Vista; one son, Eric E. Henson, Buena Vista; grandchildren, Tammy Hickman and Jeff Scott, both of Buena Vista and Michael Henson, Rocky Mount; one great-grandson, Mikie Henson; four sisters, Elsie Lawhorne and Louise Burch, both of Buena Vista, Ernestine Spahr, San Diego, Calif., and Marie Gardner, Montross; three brothers, Bobby Coleman, Emporia, Jimmy Coleman, Baltimore, Md. and Ronald Coleman, Manssas. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Stone Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Paul White officiating. Burial will follow in Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lomax Funeral Home.
