GROUPS AID SERVICE AGENCIES

Several organizations recently have made donations to assist other agencies in service efforts.

Moss in the New River Valley, the local chapter of the P. Buckley Moss Society, recently made a $1,338 donation to the Women's Resource Center in Radford. The money will be used to purchase learning materials for the Children's Learning Center.

The New River Squares dance club has given $200 to the New River Community College Educational Foundation for student book scholarships. The gift will help four students in need in the coming academic year.

The Christiansburg-Blacksburg Rotary Club has distributed $6,600 to local organizations to help fund their programs. The recipients are the Montgomery County Christmas Store, Montgomery County Emergency Assistance Programs, Shelter Home for Abused and Neglected Children, Women's Resource Center, Free Clinic, Montgomery Community Shelter, Interfaith Food Pantry, New River Valley Hospice, Reading Council and Montgomery County 4-H.

The Women of Radford Army Ammunition Plant Club conducted a food drive. The money and food collected was donated to Radford-Fairlawn Daily Bread.
