BROWNS' PERRY BOYCOTTS PRACTICE

Defensive lineman Michael Dean Perry boycotted practice in a feud with Cleveland Browns coach Bill Belichick, who fined the three-time Pro Bowl defensive lineman $4,000.

"We're here practicing," Belichick said. "He's out of camp. Camp's going to keep going."

Perry, who has chafed under Belichick's defensive schemes, wasn't taking calls from reporters. He didn't respond to a request for comment left at the player's message board.

His agent, Jim Steiner, said Perry and Belichick would meet at some point to discuss their differences. The 28-year-old Perry, who has one year remaining on his contract, has said he would like to leave the Browns.

Belichick said he last talked with Perry on Wednesday. The 6-foot-1, 290-pound Perry threw his hands up during practice while talking with Belichick, walked off the field and left camp.

Jim Lampley, who joined NBC in the spring of 1992, was picked to succeed Bob Costas as host of "NFL Live" this fall.
