`PEAK PERFORMANCE' TALENT SHOW PLANNED

Young people attending the New River Valley Fair this year will get to put their talents to the test during "Peak Performance," sponsored by the Pulaski County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Task Force Inc. and Pulaski County CADRE. Registration deadline is Friday.

"Peak Performance" participants will compete for cash in singing, air-band performance, dancing, stand-up comedy or other act. Disc jockeys from K-92, WSPK and WROV will judge the competition which offers a $100 first prize, a $50 second prize and a $25 third prize.

Each act is limited to one song or dance or five minutes, whichever ends first.

Participants must be 12 to 19 years old and live in Radford or Montgomery, Pulaski, Giles or Floyd counties.

A $5 fee must accompany "Peak Performance" registration forms, which are available at these locations:

\ Radford: Subway, Hardee's and Burger King.

\ Floyd: Action Video.

\ Dublin-Pulaski: Wal-Mart, Hardee's and Dollar General Store.

\ Blacksburg-Christiansburg: Wal-Mart and Hardee's.

\ Pearisburg: Pizza Hut.

"Peak Performance" happens at the grandstand Tuesday, from noon until 3 p.m., when fairgrounds admission is free. Call (800)-572-3120.
