PRO BOWLER ROLLS 300 GAME IN CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

Mike Aulby rolled a 300 game in the championship match as he won the Professional Bowlers Association's $140,000 Wichita Open.

Aulby, the top seed, nearly needed perfection to beat David Ozio of Vidor, Texas, 300-279 in the title match. It was the second title of the season and 22nd overall for Aulby, 33, of Indianapolis.

It was the second time a bowler rolled a 300 in a regular-tour title match. Bob Benoit did it in 1988 in winning in Grand Prairie, Texas. Earlier this season, Ron Winger became the first player on the senior PBA tour to bowl a 300 in the title match when he won in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
