OBIT GURLEY, WILLIAM ARTHUR JR.

GURLEY, William Arthur Jr., 77, of Galax, passed away Saturday, July 31, 1993, in the Twin County Community Hospital. He is survived by one son, William Arthur Gurley III, Galax; two daughters and son-in-law, Carole Jean and Joel Bonn, Anna G. Coleman, all of Galax; two brothers and sister-in-law, Theadore and Bea Gurley, Anderson, S. C., E. C. Gurley, Myrtle Beach, S. C.; two sisters and brother-in-law, Tina and Slim Jorden, Chuckey, Tenn., Sybol Baber, Shelby, N. C.; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. John (Myra) Gurley, Mrs. Howard (Darlene) Gurley, Mrs. Pearl Gurley, all of Anderson, S. C.; four grandsons, John Arthur Gurley, Randel Scott Coleman, William Arthur Gurley IV, Christopher Alexander Gurley, all of Galax; stepgrandson, James Cox, Galax; special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lorene and Ralph Carriker, Bluefield, W. Va.; special nephew, R. J. Carriker, Roanoke; and special nieces, Jenny Carriker and Paula Carriker, both of Bluefield, W. Va.; and a host of other nieces and nephews; special friends, Patty and Bert Green, Galax; former son-in-law, John Nelson Coleman, Galax. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Monta Vista Memory Gardens. Masonic Rites will be conducted at the graveside by the Galax Masonic Lodge #68. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
