TECH HAS TOO MUCH CONTROL IN BLACKSBURG

Steppin' Out, which is held every year in downtown Blacksburg, should have been called "Steppin' On" by Virginia Tech. The Family Motor Coach Convention, which came to our town, was set up at the campus. The vendors were charged for their spaces by bids. Virginia Tech never told the Family Motor Coach Convention about Steppin' Out in downtown Blacksburg, which would have helped the downtown merchants.

I think Virginia Tech has too much control over Blacksburg's merchants. These are hard-working people who make our town the way it is. If Virginia Tech has so much control, where is the ample parking that the downtown merchants need? Virginia Tech should donate a parking garage adjoining Blacksburg so the Blacksburg merchants can make a decent living.

Blacksburg is a nice town, but it shouldn't be controlled by some stupid idiots.\ Joe Slattery\ Blacksburg
