SOURS-WEKONY

Cynthia Murray Wekony and Stuart Lorne Sours were married August 14, 1993 in Waverly Place Baptist Church by Rev. Charles Hoffler. The reception was held at American Legion Post 3. The maid of honor was Stephanie A. Murphy, friend of the bride. The matron of honor was Teresa M. Kingery, sister of the bride. The junior bridesmaid was Brandy L. Kingery, niece of the bride. Flowergirls wereAmber A. Kingery and Caylin S. Murphy, nieces of the bride. The best man was David L. Sours, brother of the groom. The ushers were John W. Sours III, brother of the groom and Paul E. Vankay, friend of the groom. Photography was by Barry Brooks. The guestbook was attended by Ms. Ann Bass. The bride wore a gown of Georgette Shantung with a shawl collar gathered by a dangling pearl medallion. Cascading pearls highlighted the fitted bodice. Her headpiece was a wreath of silk flowers, sequins and iridescents topped with a triple pouff scattered with pearls. She carried a cascade bouquet of orchids, gardenias, pink sweetheart roses, pink freesia and stephanotis accented by baby's breath.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny E. Murray Jr. of Roanoke. She is a graduate of Jefferson High School and Virginia Western Community College and is employed by Atlantic Mutual Companies. The bridegroom, son of Mr. John W. Sours Jr. and the late Nomeka B. Sours of Roanoke, is a graduate of Cave Spring High School, Dabney Lancaster Community College and Ferrum College. The bridegroom is employed by Virginia Dept. of Forestry. The newlyweds will live in Vinton, Va. after the wedding trip to the Bahama Islands.
