OBIT SHELTON, ROBERT B. JR.

SHELTON, Robert B. Jr. 79, of Salem, died Sunday, September 12, 1993. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and was a retired employee of N&W Railway and a army veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mrs. Hazel P. Shelton; one son and daughter-in-law, R. Lynwood and Claudeen Shelton; three grandchildren, Bobby, Emily and Peter Shelton; one sister and brother-in-law, Margaret S. and John E. Bayse, all of Roanoke; and a number of nieces; and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 15, with the Rev. Dr. Carl A. Collins Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Oakey's North Chapel, where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
