Bill Thomasson, executive vice president of The Packett Group, called the contract "a big win" for the Roanoke agency. "We were selected from a field of eight respected Southeast agencies," he said.

Ericsson GE also said it has signed a $25 million contract with the city of Los Angeles for a digital communications system network for all public safety and service agencies except its police and fire departments. - Staff report
