JERNIGAN-STANLEY

Rhonda Ann Stanley and Airman Christopher Dale Jernigan, United States Navy, were united in marriage September 25 at 2:00 p.m. in the Airlee Court Baptist Church with Rev. Glidden performing the ceremony. The reception was held at the church fellowship hall. The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

The maid of honor was Lisa Stanley, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Karen Lucas and Julie Poff, cousins of the bride.

The best man was Tsgt. Ronnie Jernigan, father of the groom. The groomsmen were Scott McGuire, cousin of the groom, and James A. Stanley, brother of the bride.

The flowergirls were Amanda Jernigan and Miranda Bryant, cousins. The ringbearer was Derrick Ferguson, cousin of the bride.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James R. Stanley of Roanoke and the granddaughter of Ms. Teresa Pruitt-Thompson of Salem; the great- granddaughter of the late Mrs. Bertie Poff and Mrs. Nellie Lambert, both of Roanoke.

The groom is the son of Mrs. Vickey Snead of Roanoke County and Tsgt. Ronnie Jernigan of Honolulu, Hawaii; the grandson of Mrs. Evelyn Riffe of Roanoke and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Jernigan of Roanoke; the great-grandson of Ms. Mattie Grainger and Ms. Sarah Jernigan, both from South Carolina.

The couple graduated from Patrick Henry High School. The bride is employed by Sears Hair Salon. The groom served in the Navy for two years and is planning to attend school at the first of the year. After a wedding trip to Kissamie, Florida, the couple will live in Roanoke County.
