RICE-BECKNER

Sharon Renee Beckner and Duane Edward Rice were married on September 25, 1993 in a 3:00 pm ceremony on the terrace of Hidden Valley Country Club. Rev. Robert Hamner officiated. The bride was given in marriage by her father. A reception followed. The bride is the daughter of Hubert "Sonny" and Shirley Beckner of Vinton and the granddaughter of Mrs. Bernice Petitt. The groom is a son of Jim and Shirley Rice of Vinton and the grandson of Mrs. Ruth Tomlinson and Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Rice.

The matron of honor was Connie Beckner, sister-in-law of the bride. Bridesmaids were Ann Elizabeth Adams and Arlene Usery. The best man was Jim Rice, father of the groom. The ushers were Todd Rice, brother of the groom and Randy Beckner, brother of the bride. The flower girl was Chelsea Beckner, niece of the bride. Ring bearer was Jeremey Rhodes, cousin of the bride. The guest book was attended by Gina Emert. The hostesses were Marcia Corning and Debbie Rice.

The bride and groom are graduates of William Byrd High School. The groom attended Virginia Western Community College. The bride is a flight attendant for USAir Airlines. The groom is employed by United Parcel Service.

The newlyweds will make their home in Vinton.
