CENTRE RUNS PAST GENERALS 21-15

Kris Garrett ran for 75 yards before halftime and scored a touchdown Saturday as Centre defeated Washington and Lee 21-15.

Centre (2-1) outgained Washington and Lee (0-2) 204-to-52 on the ground and its defense sacked quarterbacks Brooks Fischer and Matt Reedy four times.

Centre quarterback David Clark completed nine of 19 passes for 96 yards. Joey Johnson scored on a one-yard plunge and rushed for 69 yards on 14 carries.

Washington & Lee scored on a pair of 1-yard plunges by Tom Mason. Fischer, a freshman, came in in the second quarter and threw for 205 yards completing 15 of 28 passes. \
