OBIT FISCHER, RUBY MABES
FISCHER, Ruby Mabes, 81, of Salem, died Friday, September 24, 1993. She was
born in Union, W.Va. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Fischer and a son, Michael
Fischer. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Herbert and Jeannie
Fischer, Roanoke; two daughters and son-in-laws, Barbara and Bob Albert,
Roanoke, Lucy and Earl Cavendish, New Castle; one brother, H.R. Mabes, Salem;
one sister, Naoma Weaver, Vinton; eight grandchildren; two step grandchildren;
nine great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Monday, September
27 at 11 a.m. at the Sherwood Memorial Park with Rev. Lew Bennett officiating.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the John M. Oakey
and Son Funeral Home, Salem.
