QUILTERS TO SHOW WORK AT FLOYD CRAFT FESTIVAL

Area quilters will display their handiwork during the 27th annual Floyd County Arts and Crafts Festival, Oct. 9 and 10, at Floyd County High School. The Floyd County Woman's Club Inc. is sponsoring the event, and the Old Church Gallery Quilters' Guild will coordinate quilt displays and competition.

Show hours will be Oct. 9, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Oct. 10, 1 to 5 p.m.

Register all quilts and quilted items to be judged in the high school band building, Oct. 8, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. There is a charge of $1 per item entered. Items previously displayed at the festival are not eligible for competition.

Judging will be held that evening. Ribbons and prizes will be awarded, and the public will vote on a "Viewers' Choice" award. Quilts may be picked up Oct. 10, 5 to 6 p.m.
