OBIT GORDON, DONALD FREDRICK
GORDON, Donald Fredrick, 70, of Mechanicsburg, died Sunday, September 26,
1993, in Bluefield Regional Medical Center. He was born October 2, 1922 at
Crandon, the son of Mrs. Goldie Hamilton Gordon of Mechanicsburg and the late
Fred Thomas Gordon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nell F. Gordon. He
was a Veteran of World War II, was employed by the Celanese Corporation for 40
years until his retirement in 1987 and was an active member of the
Mechanicsburg Christian Church where he served as Elder and Chairman of the
Board. In addition to his mother, he is survived by four children, Terry
Gordon and Andrea Gordon of Mechanicsburg, Mike Gordon of Keokuk, Iowa and
Laura Gordon Harkey of Warner Robins, Ga.; a brother, Doug Gordon of
Mechanicsburg; two grandchildren, Bradley and Leslie Gordon of Mechanicsburg;
two nephews, Lee and Bob Gordon of Mechanicsburg. Funeral services will be
Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Mechanicsburg Christian Church with the Rev. E. C.
Redmond officiating. Burial will be in the Mechanicsburg Cemetery. Visiting
will be anytime after 4 p.m. Tuesday at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White
Gate, with the family receiving friends from 7 to 9 p.m.
