OBIT SALYER, RALPH WILLIAM JR.

SALYER, Ralph William Jr., 56, of Route 3, Box 194, Bristol, died Monday, September 27, 1993, as a result of an auto accident. Mr. Salyer was a lifelong resident of Scott County. He attended Booher's Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Benhams Masonic Lodge #93. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Lynn Worley Salyer; one son, Cary Sutton Salyer of Vinton; one stepsister, Genevieve Fugate Smith of Hiltons; two brothers, Claude M. Salyer and Jimmy Lee Salyer, both of Bristol; one granddaughter, Amy Catherine Salyer of Vinton; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Kathy Lynn Salyer of Vinton. Funeral services for Mr. Salyer will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, 1993, in Akard Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harry Layell officiating. Burial will follow in the Cox Family Cemetery with Masonic graveside services conducted by the Benhams Masonic Lodge #93. Pallbearers will be the following nephews: Earl Counts, Dwight Counts, Andy Counts, Terry Salyer, Timmy Salyer, Troy Salyer, Jimmy Salyer and Danny Ashley. Honorary pallbearers will be friends and neighbors. The body will remain at Akard Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, 1993. Akard Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
