COX-FARMER

Frances Martha Farmer and Michael Dean Cox were united in marriage on August 21, 1993, at the Oakland United Methodist Church. The Rev. Richard Gregory officiated the double-ringceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney M. Farmer, Sr. She is employed by Scott & StringfellowInvestments, Inc., Blacksburg. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold D. Cox. He is employed by Appalachian Power Company in Pulaski. Susan Blankenship, of Hillsville, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Tamara Farmer,sister-in-law of the bride; Rosetta Goad of Lynchburg, and Kristin Wilson ofHiwassee, both friends of the couple.Harold Cox, of Galax, father of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen wereSid Farmer, brother of the bride; Jimmy Surratt of Hillsville, and DannyBlankenship of Hillsville, friends of the couple. Sandra Williams, friend of the couple, attended the guest register.Wedding music was presented by Kandi Golding, pianist. Soloist were KandiGolding of Hillsville, and Jan Stover, cousin of the bride, of Burke, Va. The wedding was directed by Rhoda Roberts, aunt of the bride, of St. Louis, Mo. Church decoration were provided by IdealFlorist. Kristin Wilson providedbridesmaids bouquets and assisted with decoration of the church. Tami Martin, of Christiansburg, assisted with prewedding attire. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Galax Elks Lodge. After a honeymoon trip to Myrtle Beach, the couple will reside in Dublin.
