BURTIS ANNIVERSARY
Mr. and Mrs. John H. "Jack" Burtis celebrated their 50th wedding
anniversary on October 9, 1993, with their son, Allan W. Burtis, and his wife
Karen A. Burtis. The couple was married October 9, 1943, at Marfa Army Air
Base, Marfa, Texas. Mrs. Burtis is the former Dorothy Louise Richardson. The
couple have one son, Allan W. Burtis of Roanoke County. Mr. Burtis is retired
from Prudential Insurance Company, Roanoke, and Mrs. Burtis is retired from
VA medical Center, Salem. They are members of Second Presbyterian Church. He
is a member of Kazim Temple, American Legion Post No. 3, Kiwanis Club of
Roanoke, and the 100 Hundred and 300 Hundred Clubs. She is a member of
Thursday Morning Music Club and Roanoke Symphony Volunteers Association.
