BENNETT ANNIVERSARY

Richie and Catherine celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary October 2, 1993 at Riverdale Baptist Church. This was hosted by their families. They were married October 4, 1943 in Roanoke. Rev. Percy Bailey officiated. Mr. Bennett retired from Singer Furniture after 45 years. Mrs. Bennett, the former Catherine Blankinship, was employed at Puritan Mills. For the past 40 years she has been a No. 1 baby sitter for numerous little ones. They were blessed with three sons, Allen and Dean Bennett, and the late Dan Bennett. Also four grandsons, one great-grandson and one great- granddaughter.
