COMMUNITY ARTS SCHOOL OFFERS CLASSES

The Radford University Community Arts School will offer a series of classes for youngsters:

Saturday Arts Day Sampler: Six-week class begins Saturday, 1-2:30 p.m., in Powell Hall. There will be three half-hour classes in art, guitar and keyboard/computer for ages 5 through 12. Classes will be grouped by age. The fee is $40.

Introduction to Piano: Eight-week course begins Tuesday, 5:30-6 p.m. in 106 Powell Hall, for ages 7 through 9 (grades one-three). The $50 fee includes two books.

Music Readiness: Six-week class starts Nov. 2, 4:30-5 p.m. in 125 Powell Hall, for ages 4 through 6. The fee is $35.

Introduction to Music Composition: Four-class series starts Oct. 23 (with no class Nov. 13), 10-10:45 a.m. in 125 Powell Hall, for ages 8 through 15. There is no fee.

Enrollment is limited and registration is required. Fees include all materials. Call the Community Arts School, 831-5385, or the music department, 831-5177, for more information or to register. Fees may be paid at the first class meeting. There will be no classes during the Thanksgiving break, Nov. 24-27.

Individual lessons on most instruments also are available.
