OBIT FISHER, RALPH GRIFFIN

FISHER, Ralph Griffin, 70, of Rt. 4, Rocky Mount, passed away Monday, October 11, 1993 at his home. He was a graduate of Virginia Tech and served as a lieutenant in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He began his career as an agent for State Farm Insurance in Roanoke, Va. He was promoted to the Home Office in Bloomington, Ill., where he received numerous promotions throughout his thirty-two year career. He was also a member of the Society of Certified Life Underwriters. He retired in 1984 and returned to Rocky Mount, where he actively enjoyed being near family and friends. Ralph was a loving husband, devoted father, great friend and a wonderful man who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Surviving is his wife, Stella (Toni) Fisher; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles (Chuck) and Lisa Fisher, Bloomington, Ill; two daughters and son-in-law, Anne Marie Parron, San Diego, Calif., Kay Ellen and Philip Masters, Dallas, Texas. Also surviving are two sisters and brothers-in-law, Edith Page and Jack Helms, Rocky Mount, Betty Jane (Betsy) and Pete Guilliams, Callaway; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Grover Wilson (Bill) and Hazel Fisher, Jack Fisher and Howard Lee (Slick) Fisher, all of Callaway, Va.; five grandchildren, Kendyl and Chad Griffin Fisher, Michael, Connor and John Masters. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday from Lynch Chapel, Rocky Mount, Va., by Rev. Dan Garrett. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Franklin County Rescue Squad or the American Cancer Society.
