KINGS DOMINION TRYOUTS NOV. 18

Paramount Parks, operators of five regional theme parks in the United States and Canada including Kings Dominion near Richmond, is conducting a nationwide talent search. Auditions for prospective performers will be held at Burruss Auditorium on the Virginia Tech campus on Nov. 18.

Singers, specialty acts and technicians may audition from 3 to 5 p.m. Dancers are scheduled to audition at 5 p.m., and instrumentalists and actors from 5 to 7 p.m.

Hugh Darley, senior vice president of design and entertainment, offers these tips for entertainers:

Be prepared: Select short, catchy pieces. Choose music that is right for you, not music you think the judges want to hear.

Arrive early: Arrive in plenty of time so that you are not rushed. Once at the audition site, review your material again.

Be comfortable: Wear comfortable clothes that make you look good. Singers and dancers should bring clothes for dancing.

Call Kings Dominion at 804-876-5142.
