OBIT SOWERS, PAUL ELLETT

SOWERS, Paul Ellett, 72, of Christiansburg, died Monday, November 1, 1993, in Montgomery Regional Hospital after a long illness. He was a Veteran of World War II and a retired brick mason. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Gertrude Baker Sowers; two sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Teresa Sowers of Christiansburg and Dennis and Kathy Sowers of Riner; three daughters and a son-in-law, Shirley Woolwine Sowers, Jo Ann Price Sowers and Sylvia and Thomas Buchanan, all of Christiansburg; a brother, Irvin Sowers of Floyd; seven sisters, Lena Dowdy, Clara Saunders, both of Radford, Snowie Bolt of Clifton Forge, Mae Hayes of Salem, Lillie Matherly of Elliston, Ruth McGrady of Christiansburg and Bertha Keith of Blacksburg; one sister-in-law, Ruth Sowers of Blacksburg; 11 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 3, at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Sam Hancock. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 Tuesday evening at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home.
