OBIT STONE, MARY ELIZABETH
STONE, Mary Elizabeth, 94, of Roanoke, passed away at her home, Sunday,
November 14, 1993. Mrs. Stone was a longtime and faithful member of Melrose
Baptist Church, where she served as a Deaconess and was a charter member of
the Williamson Road Diners Club. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest L.
Stone Sr., and a son, James Lewis Stone. She is survived by one son and
daughter-in-law, Lee and Ola Stone, Roanoke; two daughters and sons-in-law,
Dorothy and Mosby Linkous, Roanoke, Betty and Thomas Minyard, Salem; six
grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Bessie Hauer,
Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel, 1 p.m.
Tuesday, November 16, 1993, with Rev. Larry E. Sprouse officiating. Burial
will be in Evergreen Burial Park. Friends may call Oakey's North Chapel, where
the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
