OBIT MORRA, ROSE MARIE FLOOD

MORRA, Rose Marie Flood, 67, of Roanoke County, passed away Sunday, December 5, 1993, in Roanoke's Community Hospital, after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. Mrs. Morra was born in Rockaway, New Jersey and was preceded in death by her parents, John Flood and Mary Ellen Moran Flood. Mrs. Morra will be remembered by the students, graduates and faculty of Cave Spring High School as the smiling face in the main office where she served as school secretary for over 20 years. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, John A. Morra; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Michael Sloan of Troutville; a son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Jean Morra of McLean, Va.; a daughter, Karin Morra of Roanoke; a sister, Catherine F. Williams of Bernardsville, N.J.; a brother, John E. ("Jack") Flood of Phoenixville, Pa.; a grandson, Gregory Sloan; granddaughters, Courtney Sloan, Kathryn Rose Sloan, Lauren Morra, Claire Morra; many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. The Christian Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 8, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Salem, Va. Father Jim Parke and Sister Eveline Murray officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Burial Park. A prayer service will be held Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Oakey's South Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. The family suggests memorials to the Catholic Church of the Transfiguration Building Fund, P.O. Box 406, Fincastle, Va. 24090, in her memory. Oakey's South Chapel is handling arrangements.
